*Position Summary*
John J.
Brennan Construction Company has an opening for a full-time *Senior Construction Accountant* in our Shelton, CT office.
This position will report to and support the Chief Financial Officer.
This role will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our company by providing insightful analysis, managing key processes, and driving strategic decision-making.

*Primary Responsibilities*
· Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability goals, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
· Prepare management reports to help monitor and guide the business
· Update monthly WIP report in collaboration with Project Managers to optimize cash flow and revenue recognition
· Create annual company and departmental budgets in collaboration with senior and conduct monthly variance analysis
· Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements for all financial reports
· Prepare year-end reconciliations, journal entries, and audit workpapers and assist auditors with questions as required
· Manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with union agreements and company policies
· Respond to inquiries from the Owners and CFO.
· Assist with special projects as requested.
· Support other team members.
· Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screenings
*Preferred Experience*
· Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
· Minimum of 5 years of *Construction Accounting *experience in a similar role
· Proven experience in financial analysis within the construction industry
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills
· Ability to multitask and prioritize concurrent tasks / projects
· Attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Solid computer skills (Excel, Word, etc)
· Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screenings
