SENIOR ACCOUNTANT with AR FOCUS
BENDER is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant with a focus on Accounts Receivable to join our finance team.

As a Senior Accountant at BENDER, you will play a critical role in managing our Accounts Receivable processes, mentoring a small administrative staff, and supporting the financial close.
We are looking for an experienced professional who can dig into the details, implement process improvements through technology and best practices, and maintain a proactive and collaborative approach to their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor a small administrative staff, providing guidance and support in areas related to invoicing, payment application and point of sale batch reconciliation.
Prepare budget reports, ad-hoc reports, and assist with budgeting efforts.
Review credit applicants and make credit decisions.
Generate and analyze AR Aging reports, directing staff in collection efforts.
Utilize data analysis skills to draw insights from data and make data-based recommendations—including creating Excel models and the knowledge of how/when to use what formulas.
This is an advanced data analysis position—it is not just maintaining existing sheets.
Support the financial close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and reserve calculations.
Support the controller in financial statement preparation.
Update and manage cost-to-serve reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and efficiencies.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in Accounts Receivable activities.
Advanced to expert-level knowledge and experience using Excel, including advanced formulas, v-lookups, macros, pivot tables, etc.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized with strong time management skills.
Proactive approach, focused on collaboration and flexibility.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Previous experience in a distribution model business is a plus.
