is soliciting proposals from qualified individuals or organizations to provide Early Childhood Consultation services.

Program Description: Lulac Head Start, Inc.
is a comprehensive early childhood education program serving low-income families in our community.
Our program focuses on promoting school readiness and providing holistic support to children and families.
We recognize the critical importance of addressing educational needs in the early childhood years and are seeking a consultant to provide expert guidance and consultation in this area.
Position Description: The selected consultant will serve as an Early Childhood Educational Consultant for Lulac Head Start, Inc.
The consultant will collaborate with our staff to enhance the curriculum implementation of our enrolled children.
The consultant will provide support, training, and guidance on various aspects of early childhood education.
Duties and Tasks: The consultant's key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Providing consultation and guidance to teaching staff on promoting positive social-emotional development.
Assisting in the development and implementation of evidence-based strategies to address behavioral challenges as they relate to classroom teaching practices and classroom management.
Delivering training sessions and workshops to staff on topics related to early childhood education.
This consultant's active involvement will extend to being an indispensable member of the Education Advisory Committee, with a requirement to attend a minimum of three meetings per program year.
Schedule: The consultant will be expected to provide services for a period of 12 months, starting in January 2024.
The schedule will be determined in collaboration with Lulac Head Start, Inc.
and will include quarterly on-site visits and availability for consultations as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degree in early childhood education, child development, or human development
Two or more years experience administering a licensed child care center that meets standards comparable to those in Connecticut
Demonstrated experience in providing early childhood education consultation services.
Knowledge of evidence-based practices in promoting developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Other Requirements:
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
Supervision: The consultant will report to the Education Manager at Lulac Head Start, Inc.
Regular check-ins and meetings will be scheduled to ensure ongoing collaboration and support.
Reimbursement: The selected consultant will be compensated at a competitive rate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Detailed reimbursement terms and conditions will be included in the final contract.
