The Paralegal position will have responsibility of providing support to the Associate General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel for litigation and other matters as needed, as well as supporting the North America General Counsel with corporate governance and other internal departments on a broad range of matters.
What are you waiting for? Come and join us in our exciting BIC World! What You’ll Do: • Works directly with the Associate General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel and in-house counsel members on general litigation matters, pre-litigation disputes, and related matters.
• Supports broader corporate secretary function with governance and other corporate matters, including support and coordination of Board and committee meetings (both with internal stakeholders and with Board members) and other matters including preparation of minutes, shareholder engagement, and corporate recordkeeping.
• Supports other members of the legal department on cross functional initiatives as needed.
• Identifys and executes process improvement projects.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
• Delivers strong customer service, is committed to meeting deadlines, and can multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Understands processes and attorney-client relationships.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Capable of handling confidential matters and work with minimal supervision.
• Works efficiently and frequently collaborates with various internal and external business partners.
• Demonstrates problem solving and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exhibits a high degree of initiative and knows when to be proactive or reactive as situations require.

What We're Looking for in You: • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent related experience • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience (experience related to the expertise needed in this role) in a law firm or corporate legal department • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly, Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and SharePoint), DocuSign or equivalent, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Litigation Management programs (i.
e.
Legal Files) • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain quality of work while working with multiple clients and meeting established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with outside counsel, when necessary.
• Advanced decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills, with particular attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to analyze and synthesize data.
• Ability to work in a team environment across all levels of management in North America and abroad while also being able to work independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication, time management and organization skills.
