Certified in 1991, East End Hospice, a 501(c)(3) not- for-profit corporation, has provided services to over 17,000 terminally ill patients and their families – primarily in patients’ homes under the direction of professionals—and with invaluable assistance from dedicated volunteers.
Our coordinated teams of seasoned health care professionals and volunteers are committed to meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patients and families who come to us for care.
Supporting families through grief and bereavement is an essential component of East End Hospice, including a comprehensive children’s bereavement program and Camp Good Grief—our highly acclaimed day camp for children aged 4-17 (Camp Good Grief began in 1997.
) East End Hospice is currently seeking a *Vice President, Chief Quality and Compliance Officer*.
*Responsibilities:* * Works very closely with the President and CEO to oversee all clinical operations.
* Directs and supervises the East End Hospice Quality Assessment / Performance Improvement Program.
* Directs and monitors the implementation of the East End Hospice Corporate Compliance Program.
* Leads, directs, supervises, and monitors the IDG.
* Ensures that EEH implements policies that promote the identification and reporting of violations of the Compliance Program, without fear, retribution and/or retaliation.
* Collaborates with the President/CEO in the establishment, evaluation, and revision of EAST END HOSPICE policy and procedures and implementation.
* Collaborates with the President/CEO in the ongoing evaluation of East End Hospice programs.
* Develops, coordinates and implements educational programs, orientation and in-service training for East End Hospice personnel that includes all elements of hospice compliance.
* Oversees internal and external audits or investigations to ensure clear and responsive communication and document access.
Reports findings to President/CEO and, upon approval, implements changes needed as identified by audits or investigations.
* Oversees clinical documentation for timely completion and clinical pertinence in collaboration with IDG and CQI nurse.
* Directs compliance auditing and monitoring processes, to ensure the implementation of methods to improve efficiency and quality of services, and to reduce East End Hospice’s vulnerability to fraud, abuse and waste.
* Maintains current knowledge of laws and regulations that affect the operations of hospice.
Disseminates all relevant information to management and staff as appropriate.
* Provides personnel issues and information related to compliance to President/CEO.
* Investigates and reports to President/CEO all matters related to compliance, including the report of suspected violation of the hospice Code of Conduct, the hospice Compliance Plan, or any related hospice policy and procedure.
* Reports on the effectiveness of the East End Hospice Corporate Compliance Program to the CEO and recommends opportunities for improvement.
* Act in the absence of the President/CEO, when requested.
*Professional Requirements:* * Highly knowledgeable and versed in the hospice concept and its implementation.
* A bachelor’s degree in nursing (master’s degree preferred) or a master’s degree in social work.
* Three to five years’ experience in the delivery of hospice care.
* Two years satisfactory additional experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
* Experience with Joint Commission and NYS DOH Standards as well as legal and ethical issues in healthcare.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $130,000.
00 - $160,000.
