5 Work Week Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day) Work Location Medical School Campus Worksite Address 367 Cedar Street New Haven, CT 06510 Work Model On-site Position Focus: Under the direction of the PI, the Research Assistant II will support multidisciplinary projects within the Section of General Internal Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine.
These include ongoing, NIH-funded studies focused on medical school equity and cardiovascular outcomes research, as well as studies in development which are the focus of NIH R01 applications.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for carrying out research activities according to study protocol and will support teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
Essential Duties 1.
Researches and collects data through site or home visit intakes; library research; structured interviews; or through other means for research projects.
2.
Interprets, synthesizes, and analyzes data using scientific or statistical techniques.
Modifies and plans research experiments, procedures, tests, or survey instruments.
Assists in research design.
3.
Writes and edits material for publication and presentation.
Reports on status of research activities.
Oversees and instructs research and support staff on technical procedures, equipment operation, and laboratory maintenance.
4.
Schedules and coordinates research activities.
Identifies and recruits study participants.
Orders and maintains inventory of supplies.
5.
May assist in preparing financial information and monitoring budgets.
6.
Performs additional functions incidental to research activities.
Required Education and Experience Two years of related work experience in the same job family and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Skill/Ability 1: Previous demonstrated ability supporting biomedical research including qualitative and quantitative methods within the scope of established study protocols and in adherence with human subjects regulations.
Required Skill/Ability 2: Ability to coordinate study participant screening, recruitment, enrollment and data collection activities, including administering electronic surveys, tracking and documenting study participation.
Required Skill/Ability 3: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Skill/Ability 4: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Required Skill/Ability 5: Proficiency with computer databases including REDCap and Microsoft suite.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Two years of work experience in patient-oriented research.
REDCap Experience preferred.
