*Position summary: *The career preparation instructor is responsible for the new students coming to the center.
They will coordinate and instruct the career preparation period for all incumbent students.
*Essential responsibilities:*
* Plan, coordinate and conduct the CP program and other activities and lessons by using a variety of teaching strategies to meet student learning needs.
* Recommend an appropriate training program for each assigned student using background files, personal interviews, tests, and other assessment tools.
* Provide students with employment, career training, personal and social adjustment counseling on an individual and group basis.
* Continuously evaluate individual student’s attitudes, participation, and commitment in career preparation program, intervene when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
* Maintain documentation and training records for each student.
*Education and experience requirements:*
* A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
* Must have two years of related experience.
* Experience working with youth (paid or volunteer) is needed.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
* Computer proficiency is required.
* Must have a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
