As Academic Coordinator, you will be joining an international team working to inspire middle and high school students from around the world to become socially responsible leaders and global citizens.
This role is primarily focused on recruiting, hiring, training, and coordinating with instructors before, during, and after the July program.
You will be working with the Academic Director who will guide you through the entire process.
Everything in online/virtual until the July program, where travel to site and housing is provided.
Hours are flexible (can be during the evenings and weekends), making it a perfect position for a current teacher or person in education.

*Responsibilities*
* Help recruit instructors for your program site at the university and virtually (~30 instructors)
* Interview potential instructors (30 min/interview - provide interviewees with prep questions)
* Help hire new instructors for your site
* Develop and provide instructor training and make-up training in collaboration with the other “Academic Coordinator” and the Academic Director on topics related to student engagement, classroom management, and age-appropriate curriculum
* Help organize (prior to program) and execute (during program) chaperone activities
* Prepare classroom material (e.
g.
, worksheets, syllabi) that meet Eduexplora’s standards to be shared with hired instructors
* Review instructors’ syllabi for your program site (~ 30 min-1 hr/syllabus)
* Be the main communicator with potential and hired instructors
* Supervise onsite and offsite to make sure quality of classes being taught are up to standard and make necessary corrections when needed by providing feedback on site
* Coordinate on-site academic activities
* Help Academic Director analyze and send out survey results during the program and after
* Coordinate class-specific field trips
* Order classroom supplies and hand out supplies during the program
* Provide administrative support for instructors

* On-boarding introduction training to meet the other instructors (30 min sessions)
* Age-appropriate curriculum development training (1 hr sessions)
* Engagement training (1 hr session)
* Classroom management with restorative justice components training (1 hr sessions)
* Topic/cohort area instructor classroom material workshop (1 hr sessions)
* Teaching practice workshop with instructors (1 hr sessions)
* Meet with instructors one-on-one to go over their syllabi and provide input (30 min)
*Qualifications*
Experience and education requirements:
* At least 2 years of teaching experience (with gifted students is a plus)
* Experience working with teenagers
* At least a Master’s degree (Master’s of Education preferred)
* Working with international students (e.
g.
, boarding school, summer program) is a plus

* January-March: ~6 hours/week: Training, recruiting, hiring, and training material preparation
* April-May: ~10 hours/week: Training, make-up training sessions, and one-on-one meetings; start of syllabi review
* June-start of program: 12 hours/week: Complete syllabi review, order classroom supplies
* July program (2 weeks): 40 hours/week: Observe instructors, provide feedback, answer emails, mid-program survey results, organize and deliver classroom supplies, provide additional program support
* Post program (4 weeks): 2 hours/week: Survey analysis and sharing with instructors; post-program debriefing (meetings and report review)
