5 Work Week Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day) Work Location Medical School Campus Worksite Address 37-55 College Street New Haven, CT 06510 Work Model Hybrid Position Focus: The Yale Institute for Global Health (YIGH), led by the schools of public health, medicine and nursing, is a university-wide effort to address global health issues, and serves as the focal point for research, education and engagement with global partners to improve the health of individuals and populations worldwide.
Reporting to the Managing Director of the Sustainable Health Initiative, YIGH seeks a Program Manager who will develop and manage innovative global health programs for YIGH, including the Sustainable Health Initiative (SHI), the Global Health Case Competition, and the Leadership in Global Health Fellowship.
The successful candidate will also work with other members of the YIGH team to support other programs at YIGH, including the Faculty Support Initiative.
Responsibilities include: Sustainable Health Initiative (SHI): Coordinate operations of the SHI venture development program in partnership with Tsai CITY.
Manage operations of the SHI Mentors-in-Residence, SHI student fellows, and all aspects for SHI seed grants.
Coordinate with the YIGH Associate Communications Officer on SHI communications needs including the YIGH website, social media, stories, and other opportunities.
Develop content as needed.
Draft written materials on SHI and prepare briefings for YIGH leadership, development opportunities, and others.
Represent SHI at innovation and entrepreneurship events with internal and external partners.
In collaboration with the Principal Investigator and Managing Director, develop and coordinate new programming to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in global health and explore and cultivate new opportunities with students and faculty in partnership with other innovation centers at Yale.
Global Health Case Competition: Develop and manage the YIGH Global Health Case Competition, including overseeing a student planning committee.
Leadership in Global Health Fellowship: Manage and enhance the Leadership in Global Health Fellowship, including coordination with appropriate offices at Yale.
Developing student placements with external NGOs, bilateral and multilateral organizations.
Lead and manage fellowship recruitment, student outreach and selection process, placement, and other related activities.
Faculty Support Initiative Seed Grants: Manage all aspects of YIGH seed grant programs, including the Hecht Global Health Faculty Network Award and Spark.
Award and others that arise; organize and facilitate informational meetings and events as appropriate.
Develop and manage the affiliate faculty scientific review committee for Hecht and Spark Awards.
Essential Duties 1.
Oversees the advancement and growth of the program.
Gives direction and leadership supporting the philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives.
Assumes primary accountability for disseminating and publishing all program information to create public awareness and support of the program.

Works closely with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community residents to further develop and implement strategic plans.
3.
Identifies, solicits, and cultivates community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of the program.
Develops the metrics to identify and measure the success of the program.
Responsible for measurements of grant success and related evaluation.

Assists in identifying and evaluating potential future funding sources, and contributes to the submission of grants and contracts supporting the program, including the annual submission and writing of all content areas and budgetary sections of grant applications.
Develops and manages the program’s operating budget.
5.
Develops the administrative infrastructure of the program.
Manages human resource and administrative functions of the program, including staffing and hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling and discipline, if warranted.
Oversees and manages information systems, facilities, and space needs.
6.
Investigates, identifies, implements, and oversees the maintenance of systems to gather, track, and report information to support the initiatives of the program.
Tracks all program activities and regularly informs leadership of progress on each initiative.
Recommends structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on full knowledge of missions, goals, and objectives.

Initiates, designs, and manages the compilation of program communications; identifying outreach potential, and promoting philanthropic and collaborative support of the program.
Contributes to the development and assists in the management of content on the program’s website and monitors all changes and additions to the editorial content.
8.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 2: Excellent planning and organizational skills, and an ability to work independently.
Required Skill/Ability 3: Strong ability to work with a variety of stakeholders including internal and external partners.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Master’s degree.
Public health experience is highly desirable.
