5 Work Week Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day) Work Location West Campus Worksite Address 400 C28 Admin West Campus Drive Orange, CT 06477 Work Model Hybrid Position Focus: Yale School of Nursing (YSN) is seeking a Financial Aid Services Specialist to join a dynamic and growing Enrollment Office.
YSN, located on the beautiful and sprawling grounds of Yale West Campus, is conveniently located near major highways.

Photo Gallery Tour | Yale West Campus The Financial Aid Services Specialist would be an integral part of the team, providing financial aid advising, assists with award processing and supports the operations and systems of the YSN Office of Financial Aid.
The Specialist prepares and delivers accurate and accessible financial aid information to multiple YSN constituencies including prospective students, applicants, and current students; assists with the execution of financial aid transactions for admitted and current students; provides friendly, timely and accurate guidance to students with financial aid inquiries; and supports the financial aid functional area by assisting with special projects and other duties as assigned.
The job also includes occasional evening and weekend responsibilities for programming and events.
In addition to the Essential Duties listed below, this position will also: Provide financial aid information (including, but not limited to, instructions and description of financial aid, status of loans, student account status) to prospective, admitted and continuing students, outside scholarship organizations, lenders and loan guarantee agencies.
Certify financial aid awards and loans on a timely basis.
Print and proofread award letters, instructions, applications and other forms.
Investigate and resolve loan processing delays and bill payment issues by working with students, lenders, Yale technology staff and Student Financial Services staff.
Organize and input financial aid information to Banner.
Handle confidential material and information on student finances and financial aid.
Assist Director in assembling reports.
Attend all required meetings, workshops and conferences.
Provide support to all other student services offices and teams as needed.

Essential Duties 1.
Oversees and coordinates administrative, program, and office activities.
Establishes, selects, implements, and coordinates office procedures and systems.
Serves as principal source of information to students, staff, and faculty on policies, procedures, programs, and office activities.

Oversees, instructs, and coordinates activities of support staff.
Oversees the preparation of materials for grants, contracts and budgets.
Monitors expenditures and reconciles financial statements.
3.
Provides editorial support for a journal/publication.
Proofreads and edits material for grammatical and factual accuracy.
Tracks copy through various editing and production stages.
Communicates with authors, printers, and others concerned with published work.
4.
Determines administrative, facility, and equipment needs for symposia, lectures, seminars, and conferences.
Assembles and arranges for necessary items.
Determines sources of data.
Compiles, synthesizes and manipulates data.
Summarizes findings and writes reports or portions of reports.
5.
Greets visitors.
Answers and screens telephone calls.
Assesses nature of business.
Responds to requests for information and provides assistance.
Screens and responds to mail.
6.
Formats, keyboard, proofread, and edits correspondence, reports, manuscripts, grants, and other material.
Assembles attachments and corresponding material.
Reviews outgoing material for completeness, dates, and signatures.
Composes substantive correspondence and written material.
7.
Coordinates travel arrangements.
Schedules and coordinates meetings and appointments.
Orders and maintains inventory of supplies.
Takes minutes or dictation.
Performs additional functions incidental to office activities.
Required Education and Experience Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Skill/Ability 1: Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituencies.
Required Skill/Ability 2: Ability to develop communications and deliver informative and engaging presentations for external audiences.
Ability to understand and work with financial data, including basic to intermediate familiarity with Microsoft Suite.
Required Skill/Ability 3: Ability to prioritize work, handle complex or multiple work assignments, achieve high quality work outcomes, meet deadlines and effectively solve problems independently as well as part of a team.
Required Skill/Ability 4: Proven ability and/or experience to follow precise directions when required and understand and implement non-routine instructions and general policy statements/applications when required.
Required Skill/Ability 5: Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal in a sensitive manner with diverse groups of people with matters requiring a high level of discretion.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Experience working with financial data; data visualization and reporting, Banner, Slate, and student programming.
Experience working with prospective students, current students and faculty.
